We use the Palmer technique, David Palmer is undoubtedly the driving force behind contemporary chair massage. He also deserves bragging rights for not only designing the first massage chair, but for thrusting chair massage into the public eye when he began massaging Apple Computer employees back in 1984 — a move that brought national media attention to this “new” kind of bodywork.

The Palmer Technique

We begin by warming up the back muscles then move onto the massage sequence itself where we start by using our palms to compress the muscles along the spine at five points from the shoulders to the lower back. We also use stretching and breathing technique’s throughout the massage.

The finishing techniques for the Palmer chair massage technique include a neck stretch, scalp massage, double forearm press on the tops of the shoulders, pressure on a few additional points on top of the trapezius muscle, a chest stretch, and percussion techniques along the muscles next to the spine.

We can make the treatment as bespoke as the client needs so a screening will be done before we start the massage to identify any problem area’s.
