Are you being stretched enough?
Why do we think that mental stretching is good for us? Maybe because it keeps our brains in tip-top condition and gives us a focus so that we do not remain complacent and content but feel some discomfort and know that the discomfort of stretching will benefit us.
In the corporate world, most people feel mentally stretched each day, but using the harmony of yin and yang, we need some balance with our physical bodies, and they too need to be stretched. We usually need other people to stretch us, and we can apply this principle, physically as well as mentally.
Assisted stretching allows you to relax and be distracted from your mental worries as a trained professional targets different area of your body. Most of the day workers are sitting at a desk where their spine is compressed, and blood flow is restricted.
Neglecting movement opens you up to risks of injury or discomfort from moving in any way which you do not usually do: a non-stretched body is not as agile or reactive as one which is used to stretching and moving in different ways.
Retaining flexibility is key to having good mobility later in life, and it is well-known that office-bound workers are more likely to lose muscle agility because they sit in the same position for long periods of time, but regular assisted stretching can help alleviate this and is an accessible way to keep your limbs, spine and core in good condition.

Benefits of regular stretching may include:
- Alleviate stress
- Increase flexibility
- Enhance recovery
- Relieve muscle tension
- Improve performance
- Boost mood
- Better posture
- Move fluidly
- Increase energy
